As the only boat of the class Cosi FUN Tutte GER-515 participated in this year's "H-5er" race to face the competition on lake Brombach to defend her titel.
It was Jörg Nigg who slowed down the boat as Dr. Reinhard März was not available this time. Too strong Maxi Ilg ripped out the runners, Tobi Hoh turned the foredeck into a catwalk (or moonwalk) once more and Christian Winter tried to perform the Laokoon Group using the genoa and spinnaker sheets.

On Saturday the starting line was obviously biased on the left side - easy to recognize because a couple of Melges showed this 5 minutes earlier during their start for the "Dino-Cup". Cosi FUN Tutte took an early lead over the h5 fleet, showed a well trained manoeuvre on the weather mark and found a compromise between most wind and shortest track to go downwind. With no hazel at any following mark they were free to sail their tactics which was democratically found out in calm 130db discussions. With heavy rain coming up the wind shifted right and Cosi took a "Vogelschreck" gun. Finally they were on second position as there was another boat which was able to win after calculated time even when the second boat arrived more than 4 minutes later.

Before the second start the committee changed the windward mark due to that right-shift but did not change the starting line. So the crowd was packed on starboard end. Anyway, there was no recall and Cosi led the fleet rounding the mark first. There were no exciting incidents that downwind except a media call to talk to the helmsman who was quite confused because he is not able to execute two different things at once but fortunately this call ended before arriving at the buoy.
With augmented self-esteem caused by the well done first race they could even go faster and win the second race.

With tricky conditions in race 3 Cosi FUN Tutte had no good start but was able to react through an adequate trim to evade the desperate situation. After rounding the mark ahead of the competitors the attacks of the other boats could be defended. On the next beat some more boats tried to tackle from behind but did not succeed. That was the third gun for Cosi this day and enough to win the competition with a race to spare.

So they deserved their bbq steak and delicious Bavarian beer and Tobi and Chris took the chance to party hard in Gunzenhausen's Kirchweih-nightlife.
The next day Robert Ilg took position of Chris - who was not hindered by circumstances but had another kind of appointment. Robert was merely integrated in the team and they had some more fun racing without any mental pressure. So they sailed quite satisfactorily in light conditions and won one more race.
This means a penalty point record of 2-1-1-1 for Cosi FUN Tutte winning the h-5er 2005.
