At Lake Chiemsee in southern Bavaria the FUN class Germany gathered to make out the best in class.Among the 13 participants there was one boat from Vienna, Olivier Roussey, one of the best French FUN racers and the current European Champions Roberto Benedetti and Stefano Lillia (the world class Star and FUN builder) from Lake Como.

At Lake Chiemsee the committee of Yacht Club Urfahrn started the first races in front of picturesque "Herreninsel". The Italians won the first two races as expected. Thomas Jungblut's "Inkognito" was 2nd and 3rd. In the third race they had an excellent run and defeated even the European Champions and finished the day at position two overall.
The next day there were only two races with a light breeze from East. French "Obportus" shared first places with Lillia and "Cosi FUN Tutte" sailed constantly with "Inkognito" close behind.

Everything was possible with one discard. The Italians played their boat speed in light conditions like the day before and with a wind shift to West they got another gun. "Inkognito" had OCS so several boats from the North were among Top5 - a consequence of intensive training.
The title was still an arm length from "Inkognito" but with another OCS they finished 9th. "Cosi FUN Tutte" smelled the shift downwind, was ahead and secured their position till the finishing line. With this first rank no other German FUN could overtake them any more. The 8th race was started but abandoned later because of no wind.

After 8 races Benedetti and Lillia won the German Open 2005, French "Obportus" from Yacht Club Dinard was second and Frankonian "Cosi FUN Tutte" was the best German FUN and defended its title of German Champion.
A nice part was that three brand new spinnakers from partners were raffled and the winner also got one. The conditions were that they have to sail these sails at any national and international event for one year.
